Good atmosphere

"We often carry out these types of projects, even though no two assignments are the same," says Alexander van den Nieuwenhuizen, owner of Nieuwenhuizen Natuursteen. "Our client in Harmelen had a warm, cozy atmosphere in mind. Natural stone is ideal for that. We gave her advice and the choice was quickly made: the Almora Fez, a beige limestone from Morocco. That the stone thanks to the rural design of the house comes fully into its own is a great gift for us. "

The Almora Fez tiles have an outdated look. It fits perfectly with the interior design. Van den Nieuwenhuizen: "The alternation of free lengths of 40 and 50 centimeters gives the tiles a dynamic character. The entrance and the living room blend seamlessly. The tiles were a pleasure to work with. They were easy to saw, with a rpima end result as a result. The natural stone floor exudes its characteristic atmosphere over most of the ground floor. "

Characteristic

The power of natural stone does not stop at the front door. Also on the terrace is the eye for characteristic tiles. They are Yellow Sun tiles, a limestone from India. The tiles have a rough surface, the edges are hand beaten.

Each tile is unique, says Van den Nieuwenhuizen. "We have placed the tiles in an open drainage mortar to prevent frost damage. The natural stone interweaves, as it were, merge into each other. This way the facade exudes more class. With the new interior floor and the terrace, the owner experiences her home even more."

Stone Senses from Oostkamp, Belgium, supplied the natural stone for the project. With its own factory in Morocco, the supplier is close to the source. The two tile types match in terms of color and appearance. "We chose both stones according to their application - inside and outside - and according to the wishes of the customer", explains Van den Nieuwenhuizen. "The resident is satisfied with the result. She not only collects flea market, but also regularly sells things. Now she can receive her customers in a pleasant setting that immediately sets the right mood."
